Saudis intensify search for Qaeda ops

Saudi security forces are conducting a huge search to corner more militants and find the body of the beheaded American engineer Paul Johnson.

Police cars and armoured vehicles sealed off the al-Malaz district of the capital Riyadh on Sunday.

It was the site of a gun battle on Friday which ended in the death of the al-Qaeda leader in Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz al-Muqrin.

The Saudi ruler has vowed not to allow militants to threaten the country's stability.

"We will not allow a wicked group led by a deviant ideology to destabilise the kingdom's security," King Fahd said.

But the Saudi de facto ruler Crown Prince Abdullah warned "deviant groups" that "if they do not return to the right path, they will meet the same fate or worse" as Muqrin.


Have the Saudis become Islamaphobes? Or, are "wicked" and "deviant" accurate descriptions of the enemy we are fighting?

The search along with the Saudi populations disgust at al Qaeda's actions suggest the Saudis are making progress on rooting out the terrorist.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
