A US preemptive strike against North Korea is justified and would be wise

NY Times:

If U.S. Attacks North Korea First, Is That Self-Defense?

The Trump administration has hinted at a pre-emptive strike on North Korea. Would such an attack be legally justified?
It would be similar to the Israeli reaction to threats made by Arab states in the Six Day War.

When threatened with a disastrous attack it is legal and justifiable to preemptively attack the aggressor.  Waiting for North Korea to launch a nuclear attack on US cities before responding is absurd.
