Israel caught Russian hackers attacking the US

NY Times:

Russian Hackers Sought U.S. Secrets. Israel Caught Them.

Exploiting the popular Kaspersky antivirus software, Russian hackers searched millions of computers for American intelligence keywords. Israeli officers tipped off the United States.
This explains why Kaspersky software is no longer permitted on most US computer systems.  It appears to permit the kind of intrusions it is sold as a protection for.  Perhaps the US should invest in Israeli software.

  1. I wonder what hacking tools the Israelis (our wonderful ally - see Jonathan Pollard and the Lavon affair) use to steal our secrets. Never mind, the have AIPAC.
