Over analyzing election results

NY Times:

A Year After Trump, Diversity Has Its Day

A transgender lawmaker in Virginia, a Sikh mayor in New Jersey and a refugee mayor in Montana: Were these Democratic victories a rebuke of President Trump or sign of change?
The left tends to worship a certain kind of diversity and is intolerant of other kinds, specifically ideological diversity.

This analysis also tends to attribute results to conform to a prejudice against the President.  It is probably more likely that the winning candidate ran the best campaign.   Who would really vote for a person simply because that person thinks the creator assigned them the wrong sex organs?

Aside from wearing funny headgear Sikhs are pretty normal people who are not a threat to anyone.  I have never heard of a Sikh terror attack or mass murder.  Unlike radical Islam, they appear to be tolerant of other people's religious affiliation.
