CNN pulls a Brian Ross on email sent to Trump campaign

Washington Post:
Email pointed Trump campaign to already-public WikiLeaks documents

Donald Trump and his top aides were directed in September 2016 to hacked documents from the Democratic National Committee that had been posted days earlier. The message was one of thousands turned over to the House Intelligence Committee and others investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Someone, probably a Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, led CNN to believe that the email was dated before the Wikileaks documents were made public.  That wasn't true but it must have been too good to check for those at CNN who pushed the story as a smoking gun showing "collusion."  These people are so desperate to make their case against Trump they are destroying their own credibility.   The Post got this one right.

It probably will not take too long for a tweet proclaiming the CNN "scoop" as fake news.

This whole Russian collusion conspiracy case spun by the Democrats and the media has become an exploding cigar for the true believers of the left.
