Trump seeks ban on bump stocks

Washington Post:
Trump directs attorney general to create regulations to ban ‘bump stocks’

The device, which turns semi-automatic firearms into automatic weapons, was used by the shooter who opened fire on a country music festival in Las Vegas in October, prompting calls for lawmakers to ban such devices. At the time, the White House and the National Rifle Association made clear that they were open to the idea, but no action was taken.
I have no problem with this.  I have been surprised that Congress did not move on it.  It is likely to do little to slow the media mad dogging about guns and its goal of repealing the 2nd Amendment.
