Why is the FBI concerned with Access Hollywood tapes issue which undercuts its theory on reason for hush money

NY Times:

F.B.I. Raid Sought Files Tied to ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape

Agents in a raid this week sought records on the “Access Hollywood” tape in which Mr. Trump was heard making vulgar comments about women, as well as any evidence that Michael D. Cohen, the president’s lawyer, tried to suppress damaging reports.
If the Access Hollywood tapes did not change the results of the election when they were made public then why does the FBI think a one night stand over 10 years ago would make a difference.  It undercuts the theory behind the subpoena of Trump's attorney business records.   This is just another example of the prosecutors looking for a case rather than investigating a crime.  It is one of the more disgraceful chapters in the history of the DOJ and FBI.
